Final Report: Capacity Building for Safeguarding Cultural Heritage in Myanmar: Phase III

From 2011-2018, the three phases of the project “Capacity Building for Safeguarding Cultural Heritage in Myanmar”, implemented by UNESCO with generous funding from the Government of Italy, have provided instrumental and timely technical assistance and financial resources to re-activate Myanmar’s engagement with the World Heritage process. This report presents the achievements gained during the Phase III of the project (2016-2018) in supporting the World Heritage nomination for Bagan and building capacity for conservation and sustainable management of cultural heritage sites in Myanmar.
