Art of Re:Creation - Asia-Pacific Edition

Art of Re:Creation - Asia-Pacific Edition

Calling amateur artists and art enthusiasts who are at home! UNESCO Bangkok invites submissions for recreating Asian artwork using household members and items, inspired by the Getty and Tussen Kunst & Quarantaine.

This initiative aims to promote a number of UNESCO’s core mandates, including the creation and enjoyment of the arts, promotion of museums and intercultural dialogues, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.

Below are a few collections in the region to spark your creativity. Other museums and art galleries with online collections are welcomed to contact us so we can include yours in the list.

You could also use an artwork of your choice. If it does not fall under open access and fair use provisions, please make sure to get the permission from the copyright owner.

When you’re ready to share, please follow the instructions below.

  • Like/Follow at least one of our social media accounts @unescobangkok on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
  • Post your re:creation together with the original artwork. Please include the name of artist, name of artwork, year, copyright owner, and the link/institution where it is displayed.
  • Add hashtags #artofrecreation and #shareculture to your message. Don’t forget to tag @unescobangkok and change the setting (of your post for Facebook and of your account for Twitter and Instagram) to public so we can see your re:creation!
