The 6th Meeting of Equitable Education Alliance (EEA): Exercising Equity to Deliver an Inclusive Classroom
Background
Established in 2020, Equitable Education Alliance (EEA) is a community of practitioners from organizations, government ministries, agencies, and NGOs who strive to push for a more inclusive and equitable educational system while enhancing the performance of existing equitable education organizations at all levels. The Alliance convenes at least two meetings annually to discuss and improve equity in education through collaborative efforts. A total of 13 countries and 15 local and international organizations participated in these meetings and shared expertise to promote and foster equity in education systems through the four main areas of expertise: 1) Legal Framework Policy Development; 2) Budgeting and Financing Mechanisms; 3) Delivery and Implementation Systems; and 4) Monitoring & Evaluation.
The 6th Meeting of Equitable Education Alliance
The 6th EEA Meeting highlights ‘Delivery and Implementation Systems’ to deliver evidence-based school and classroom practices, and provincial and area-based programmes to tackle equitable education from the grassroots level. The meeting consists of two parts, namely a public session and a closed-door session, the latter expressly for selected EEA members. The 6th Meeting is to identify potential collaboration opportunities and lead contact points that might together act as a basis for further development of EEA and to plan key activities for 2023.
The Equitable Education Hub website (EquityEdHub, or EEH) was launched in 2022 as a knowledge-sharing hub to enable learners from around the world to readily access content on several topics pertaining to equitable education’s aim to achieve the Alliance's goals towards improving equity in education through collaborative efforts, and by providing substantive and technical support to those in need.
