Together for Peace (T4P) - Webinar I: Transformative Pedagogies for Peace, Wednesday, 27 January 2021
Together for Peace (T4P) initiative explores ways to build positive peace through education. While current education systems emphasize academic achievement to become ‘economically efficient beings’, building a more peaceful future requires a transition to education systems focused on ‘human flourishing’. Recent advances from the neurosciences show that social and emotional learning (SEL) promotes coherent thinking, emotional resilience and prosocial behavior. Such skills help us to build peaceful societies. The purpose of this webinar is to explain and discuss, what is social and emotional learning, the neuroscience underlying it and how it may be integrated in education systems.
