Sexuality education in digital spaces in Asia: insight report

Sexuality education in digital spaces in Asia: insight report

There is a growing body of evidence that young people are increasingly engaging with the digital world to seek information about sexual health and sexuality. Overall, there is a need to better understand digital sexuality media interventions as an opportunity to explore innovative, complementary comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) approaches, and to influence sexual reproductive health knowledge and behaviors in Asia.

This Insight report and the accompanying Infographic summary document a regional mapping of digital sexuality education initiatives, and highlight ‘out-of-the-box’ digital solutions to expanding young people’s access to good quality, sexuality education and sexual and reproductive health information. The study aims to showcase a cross-section of sexuality education digital approaches and initiatives in Asia. As the digital space is a rapidly evolving one, this mapping of sexuality education initiatives for young people should be viewed as a ‘snap-shot’ of the landscape as it appeared in 2018. This Insight report and the accompanying infographic were developed by Love Frankie for UNESCO and our partners, UNFPA and UNICEF.
