Participant Selection Announced: 2021 UNESCO Youth Forum | Lao PDR, ‘Community Heritage for Sustainability’, 15 to 19 October 2021
UNESCO Bangkok is pleased to announce 49 youth applicants selected from 183 applications received this year’s UNESCO Youth Forum for Lao PDR programme, ‘Community Heritage for Sustainability’, which will run from 15 to 19 October 2021.
The 49 youth will participate in a hybrid forum that features both an online, self-learning phase on YouTube, and a face-to-face phase at World Heritage Offices in Champasak, Xiengkhuong and Luang Prabang. The youth will receive mentoring from national and international experts and will subsequently undertake various fieldwork activities in their hometowns.
In view of the notably large number of inspiring applications this year, UNESCO will welcome those applicants not among the 49 selected to join the self-learning phase of the forum. They will also be able to access UNESCO’s lesson repository on intangible cultural heritage (now available in Thai language) and be welcome to observe the face-to-face phase of the forum via Zoom conferencing.
