Interested to learn more about arts and culture, especially from the Asia-Pacific region? UNESCO Bangkok has compiled online learning resources about cultural heritage for kids, heritage professionals, university students and lecturers, which can be used to raise general awareness, for self-paced learning and as reference materials.

Fighting illicit trafficking of cultural objects

  • UNESCO has made available a set of materials under the framework of the 1970 Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property,  related to the legal framework, enforcement, education and awareness-raising
  • UNESCO Bangkok’s guidance on capacity-building activities at sub-regional and national levels for Countering Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Objects in South-East Asia
  • #Unite4Heritage videos are a compilation of visual materials (documentaries, panel discussions, speeches and interviews, etc.) on relevant topics concerning the fight against illicit trafficking of cultural objects, at national and international levels
  • World Customs Organization promotes the role of customs in preventing illicit trafficking of cultural objects and produces tools for this purpose
  • European Union’s efforts to fight against trafficking of cultural goods
  • Learn how art is stolen, trafficked, found and returned through this Future Learn course on Antiquities Trafficking and Art Crime
