As the current situation is forcing us to spend more time indoors, we expect you are looking for some inspirations to devote your time and energy on. The UNESCO Asia-Pacific Culture Colouring Book illustrates what we do to protect heritage and promote culture in the region. We would like to encourage you to help us promote culture by adding a splash of colour of your choice to our colouring book and sharing with others. Join our #CultureIsColourful campaign, support culture and inspire others!

As a specialized agency of the United Nations, UNESCO has the unique mandate to build peace and achieve sustainable development through culture.

But what is culture? What comes to mind when we talk about “culture”?

Our magnificent heritage sites? Our mysterious sunken treasures? Traditions passed down from our ancestors? Or our quirky neighborhoods full of memories?

The Asia-Pacific region is home to iconic heritage sites and priceless objects dating back over millennia, vibrant historic cities, dynamic arts and cultural industries, and countless living cultural practices, both traditional and contemporary. The Culture Unit of UNESCO Bangkok works closely with everyone from grassroots communities to high-level policy-makers to raise awareness about the importance of culture, innovate new approaches, showcase best practices and build capacity at all levels.

Please follow these steps to give us your support:

1. Download the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Culture Colouring Book here and choose a theme (or more!) you like and start exploring your creativity.

2. Please like or follow our social media accounts @unescobangkok on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

3. Post your masterpiece using your social media with a sentence or two explaining why culture is important to you at this time of crisis.

4. Add hashtags #CultureIsColourful and #shareculture to your message. Don’t forget to tag @unescobangkok and change the settings (of your post for Facebook and of your account for Twitter and Instagram) to public so we can see your masterpiece!
