Framework for Reopening Schools (also available in Thai and Lao)
School closures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic can have a severe impact on children’s education and wellbeing. Ministries of Education around the world focus their efforts on ensuring continuity of learning and preparing for schools’ reopening while safeguarding every child’s health and safety. UNESCO, UNICEF, the World Food Programme and the World Bank jointly developed the global Framework for Reopening Schools that supports national decision-making process and preparations on when and how to reopen schools, and guides the implementation process, as part of the overall public health and education planning processes. It outlines six key dimensions to assess the school readiness and inform planning. The Framework was translated into the Thai and Lao languages by co-producing agencies in Thailand and Lao PDR respectively.
