Building a Community of Practice: Learner-centred teaching in technical and vocational education and training in Asia-Pacific

UNESCO Bangkok is pleased to announce the release of a new report to counter the impacts of COVID-19 and promote a learner-centred approach to TVET teaching that builds skills for life and work. A learner-centred approach – an ecosystem that empowers learners based on their individual learning profiles – is at the heart of a new report on TVET teaching in Asia-Pacific.

Together with speakers from UNESCO, the International Labour Organization, and leading practitioners from industry, a new report will be released to explore current challenges and ways forward for TVET teaching and employment needs in diverse local contexts.

Discussion questions

  • What is a learner-centred approach to TVET teaching? Why is it important?
  • What are effective use cases of learner-centred TVET teaching in Asia-Pacific?
  • How can industry and TVET institutions in Asia-Pacific collaborate to unlock the potential of all youth and adult learners to achieve shared goals?
