Measuring What Matters: Happiness and Wellbeing for Sustainable Development

As part of the series of UNESCO Bangkok Special Seminars, the Section for Inclusive Quality Education organized a learning seminar on Monday, 22 May 2017, facilitated by Dr. Julia Kim from the GNH Centre Bhutan. The seminar explored the concept, fundamental principles and relevance of Gross National Happiness (GNH); the relationship of happiness and wellbeing to Sustainable Development Goal 4; as well as how to utilize happiness and wellbeing in your work and life.

Dr. Julia Kim is a researcher and global health and sustainable development specialist, currently the Senior Program Advisor at the Gross National Happiness (GNH) Centre Bhutan. In collaboration with local and international partners, the centre aims to bring the principles and practices of Bhutan’s unique development philosophy into action in the spheres of education, business, government, and civil society.
